Golden Valley Vets

Coronavirus Update

The team at Golden Valley would like to extend their thanks to all our wonderful clients for their cooperation and understanding over the last 11 weeks. As we see more and more local shops and businesses gradually re opening, we would like to update you on our current situation.

We feel it is essential to ensure we keep our team as well as our clients as safe as possible so we are always available 24 hours a day to help you should you need it, and we take this responsibility very seriously. We have redesigned our rotas so that where possible, the same vet and nurse always work together on one of five different rotations. This allows us to minimise both the total number of staff in the building at any one time and the number of times they will be in close proximity. We also hope that this will give us a level of resilience should any member of staff become involved in ‘track and trace’ lockdowns.
We also have in place stringent protocols to ensure all surfaces are sanitized on a more frequent basis and that uniforms etc do not leave the building. We hope you will understand that this has been a huge imposition on all our staff but their support of the new working arrangements is indicative of the whole team’s commitment to providing you with the very best care at all times, and we thank them for it.

We hope you will understand that we need your continued support during this pandemic whilst we are doing all we can to ensure that the standards of veterinary care we offer are maintained. We are following RCVS guidelines which involve not allowing access to the building for anyone other than essential staff and postponing some non-urgent appointments. However, we are always here for you to receive help, guidance and repeat prescriptions including preventative health care products. Should you need our help please do not hesitate to call Nailsea (24 hrs) or your local branch at the times listed below. You will then be advised how we feel it is best to proceed which could be either by a telemed appointment or to ask you to physically visit the surgery.

To maintain social distancing at all times you will not be allowed in the building. At Nailsea we have created an outside sheltered area for our clients to find shade with their animals on warmer days as well as using this space to speak to the vet whilst still maintaining a social distance. We also have a tablet available for clients to join a video chat with the vet during the consultation. Similar arrangements are in place at our branches but obviously outside space is limited.

We would welcome any feedback from clients as to how we could improve communication or support to you, which would obviously have to adhere to all the Government and RCVS restrictions as we feel the current situation will continue for some time. We are very optimistic that, working together, we can maintain all the good things about Golden Valley Vets and maintain standards whilst also keeping us all as safe as possible.

With thanks again to all our wonderful clients.
